Keep Your Plants Happy

Simple steps and clear advice to help your botanical goods thrive. Whether you are a beginner or looking to perfect your routine, our care essentials have you covered.

The Fundamentals

Every houseplant is unique, but these core rules apply to almost all indoor botanical additions.

Watering Well

Less is usually more. Always check the top few inches of the soil before adding water. If it feels dry, it is time for a drink. Ensure pots can drain properly so roots do not sit in water.

Finding the Light

Most houseplants prefer bright, indirect sunlight. Keep them away from harsh midday rays that can burn delicate leaves, but avoid deep, dark corners where they cannot grow.

Humidity & Air

Tropical varieties love moisture in the air. Grouping plants together or using a fine mist can help them feel at home. Keep them away from cold drafts or hot radiators.

Reading the Signs

Plants communicate what they need through their leaves and stems. Learning to read these early signs can help you fix issues before they become serious.

  • Yellowing Leaves Often a sign of too much water. Check that your pot has proper drainage and let the soil dry out more between drinks.
  • Crispy Brown Edges Usually indicates a lack of humidity or under-watering. Try moving the plant to a more humid room.
  • Drooping Stems A thirsty plant will look soft and wilted. A thorough watering usually restores their strength within a few hours.
